Hello class, my name is Eleana!

I am 22 years old, currently taking my final semester at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. I recently moved from Arizona to California for an easier commute for work events, so I will now be finishing school as an online student and getting a degree in Digital Audiences this December.

I initially chose to study digital audiences because of my infatuation with how society is psychologically influenced or compromised by the development and expansion of the digital media age. I believe media and technology will continue to rapidly integrate into an imperative component for how we accomplish our daily standard functions as humans in modern society. With this increase of us implementing media into more of our day-to-day societal operations, comes an increase in demand for educating the youth about how to approach processing and comprehending new information found in the media.

Further, I hope to develop a stronger understanding of how mis and disinformation presents itself in the media and what tools and resources are available to help us avoid manipulation and deception when misinformation is presented.
